El Bosque Mágico Performance with West Point Band

Saturday, April 2, 2022, 2pm EST

Join the West Point Band on the historic grounds of the U.S. Military Academy for an afternoon of musical contrasts – from classical to modern art music, Americana, and even pop favorites that will get the whole family singing along! Program highlights include Gershwin’s famous “Rhapsody in Blue” with piano soloist Master Sgt. Yalin Chi; a contemporary music selection on trumpet, performed by Staff Sgt. Bill Owens; a musical depiction of fairytale creatures in Spanish composer Ferrer Ferran’s El Bosque Mágico, featuring guest oboe soloist Dr. Alex Hayashi; and a medley of legendary hits by the Beatles.

Virtual Recital featuring bassoonist, Shuo "Shelly" Li

Presented by the University of Hawaii, Manoa as part of the Applied Instrumental Faculty Recital Series, Alex Hayashi will perform a virtual recital with guest bassoonist, Shuo “Shelly” Li.
